The Foundation is committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all housing applicants, residents, users of its services and employees. We will strive to ensure that no group or individual will be disadvantaged by or in respect of our activities.
This commitment to equality and diversity will inform every area of activity from the way we provide services to the way we employ and retain staff. The Foundation will undertake to deal with issues of discrimination or harassment, sensitively and promptly. This includes the protection of tenants' rights in relation to racial and other forms of harassment. We encourage people to report racially motivated incidents and we will respond to any incidents promptly and effectively. THe Foundation is a designated Hate Crime reporting point. Staff have been trained in how to record and refer any reported incidences of such crimes.
We collect, monitor and report on all records in relation to age, gender, ethnicity and disability, of all those applying for housing, employment and in the provision of services to ensure that no inequalities exist.
In 2007 we produced a new Equalities and Diversity Policy and Action Plan aimed at improving our performance.
