More about the neighbourhoods
Upper Horfield
Upper Horfield is BCHF’s largest single housing development that now provides homes to around 450 households. All the properties BCHF offered in this area have been newly built and the redeveloped area is a 50:50 mix of private and social properties.
Upper Horfield is a compact area with a strong sense of community. It even has its own local community organisation, the Upper Horfield Community Trust. Upper Horfield is also one of the first neighbourhoods in the country to be awarded a Cleaner, Safer and Greener Neighbourhood Quality Mark by Keep Britain Tidy – an award secured by the work of the local Pride of Place Street Reps.
Lockleaze
Lockleaze is an area and council ward in the north of Bristol, lying three miles north of the city centre, south of Filton, east of Horfield and west of Frenchay. It has a mix of private and social housing and BCHF currently has 12 properties in this area in Copley Gardens, Lockleaze.
There is a strong sense of community within the area of Lockleaze with its own local community group, the Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust. As well as organising lots of activities in the area, Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust also publishes and delivers a community newsletter called Unlocked. This is delivered to local homes, keeping the community informed of local issues news and upcoming events.
