Tenancy Support
BCHF provides care and support to tenants to maintain their tenancy.
The housing officers are the first point of contact; they will do what they can to work with you, ensuring you know your responsibilities as a tenant and explaining what BCHF can do to help. They can liaise with the council’s housing benefit section on your behalf and with your agreement, other agencies that you may be working with. Where specialist or more intensive help is needed, we can refer you to other organisations that may be able to help.
Aids or adaptations to your home
If you need an adaptation, such as a grab rail, to enable you to live safely and comfortably in your home, let us know and we can arrange that for you. If you need something like a stair lift or a walk in shower, we would need to have a referral and detailed specifications from an occupational therapist, but we can also help to arrange this for you. Contact your housing officer or the Housing Services Manager, Rachel Cobb on 0117 9319773 or send an email to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) .
For more detailed information please go to our home alterations and adaptations page.
Tenancy Support Policy
We have recently reviewed our Tenancy Support policy, which you can look at by clicking on the Tenancy Support policy link at the bottom of the page. If you have any comments, please contact Rachel Cobb on 0117 9319773 or email .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
Tenancy Support Worker
Where specialist or more intensive help is needed, we can either refer tenants to another organisation that may be able to help or Amy Oxenham, Tenancy Support Worker, will get in contact. We want to ensure tenants are getting the support they need so they can make the necessary arrangements to stay in their home, maintain the tenancy and make it a comfortable place to live.
Help with financial matters
If you are struggling to balance the money you have coming in with the payments you need to make, you can arrange an appointment with Jan Clark, who can be contacted on 0117 9319787 or by emailing .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
Jan can look at your financial situation with you and ensure you are receiving all of the benefits that you are entitled and may also be able to help you with small grant applications to purchase certain items for your home that would otherwise be beyond your budget. If you need further, more specialist advice, we can arrange for you to be referred to an Advice Centre, but Jan will meet with you afterwards to check you are managing.
