Serving neighbourhoods
Our commitment
We place great emphasis
on expanding our role to help improve the quality of life for residents who
live in the neighborhoods in which we work.
We consider that a successful neighbourhood is the product of a whole
range of factors including good schools, job opportunities, places to
play, safe streets, as well as the quality of housing. The Foundation
is committed
to working closely with other agencies and the community to improve the
quality of life for its residents.

We are currently involved in the following initiatives to assist in community regeneration:
-
Pride of Place Action Group: where local residents meet to organise community action to improve the local open space and street cleanliness. Click here for details of monthly Pride of Place walkabouts in Upper Horfield (664kb).
- Keeping
existing communities together with neighbours, friends and family
being re-housed together within the new housing
- A Tenants’ Committee to assist in the management of the area
- A police
sponsored dispersal area to respond to anti social behaviour and a close
working arrangement agreed between the police and social
housing landlords
- A local cultural history project recording changing face if the estate
from the 1920’s to current day. Click here to visit Horfield Memories.
- Trainees employed on the construction
site.
- The extension and promotion of a Credit Union on the estate to counter
financial exclusion. Click here to visit Bristol Credit Union.
